Translation

"Om, obeisances to Ganapati, lord of the ganas" ("gam" is Ganesha's seed syllable).

Meaning

Ganesha, son of Shiva and Parvati, is the lord of beginnings and remover of obstacles, invoked at the start of any undertaking. Gaudiya Vaishnavas honour him as a devotee: the Brahma-samhita (5.50) says Ganesha holds Govinda's lotus feet on his head to obtain the power to remove obstacles.
