जगन्नाथः स्वामी नयनपथगामी भवतु मे
jagannāthaḥ svāmī nayana-patha-gāmī bhavatu me
"May Jagannatha Svami, the Lord of the universe, be the object of my vision."
Meaning
The refrain of the Jagannathashtakam — eight verses about Lord Jagannatha of Puri (KKSongs attributes it to Adi Shankaracharya). Jagannatha, "Lord of the universe", is a form of Krishna. Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu lived in Puri for eighteen years and danced in kirtan before Jagannatha's chariot at the Ratha-yatra festival.
