Meaning
The Panchakshara — five-syllable mantra (na-ma-shi-va-ya), foremost in Shaivism, from the Sri Rudram (Yajur Veda). Its five syllables correspond to the five elements; an invocation of Shiva as supreme consciousness and the inner Self.
