Morning Prayers, the album by Anadi released on 108Records in November 2025, has cleared the Recording Academy's screening process and appears on the first-round GRAMMY Awards® ballot in the New Age, Ambient, or Chant Album field.
Why this is a stage, not a formality
Entries for the GRAMMY Awards® cannot be filed from the outside. Only Recording Academy members — Voting and Professional — and media companies accredited by the Academy ahead of the entry window may submit. Every entry then passes through screening, where a committee of peers verifies that the recording meets the rules and sits in the correct category. Recordings that do not clear screening never reach the voting membership.
About the album
Morning Prayers is eight tracks at the meeting point of Bhakti devotional practice and Western folk. Half the album sets four of the seven traditional Vaisnava morning prayers heard daily in temples; the other half is original kirtan, built on melodies Anadi carried and refined over years of practice. The remaining prayers are planned as future volumes — Anadi envisions the work as a multi-album devotional anthology.
The starting question was simple and hard at once: to let the sacred morning liturgy sound in an eclectic, guitar-driven Western palette without turning it into a stylisation.
How it was recorded
The turning point was a chance reconnection. Nick Delffs, Anadi's co-writer and longtime collaborator, got back in touch with his old friend from the Boise music community — Krishna, known as East Forest. Nick had helped build East Forest's studio years earlier; it became the natural home for the Morning Prayers sessions.
Once recording began, East Forest was moved enough by the material to join as co-producer. His atmospheric, introspective signature shaped several tracks, among them "Keshava", "My Sweet Lord", "Pranams", "Nrsinghadeva" and "Guruvandanam".
The result moves effortlessly between two worlds: half morning liturgy, half original kirtan.
"These prayers shaped our mornings for years. They opened our hearts, grounded our practice, and became a soundtrack to our spiritual lives. With this album, we wanted to honor that tradition — but also let it breathe in a new way. To bring guitars, folk textures, and the emotional language we grew up with into something timeless and sacred."

About Nick Delffs
Nick Delffs is a beloved figure in the Northwestern US indie-folk scene. A former frontman of The Shaky Hands, he spent his early career touring the US and Europe alongside bands such as The Shins. His solo debut Nick Delffs Redesign (2017) was followed by continuous releases, culminating in the 2024 album Transitional Phase. His experience, emotional depth and distinct indie-folk sensibility brought a warm, timeless quality to Morning Prayers.
