Translation
"We meditate on the adorable radiance of the divine Savitar; may He inspire our intellect."
Meaning
The Gayatri of the Rig Veda is the most revered Vedic mantra, recited by brahmanas at dawn, noon and sunset. In Vaishnava understanding its object is the Supreme Lord: the Srimad-Bhagavatam is called the commentary on the Gayatri and opens with the same word "dhimahi" — "we meditate."
